Forgive and Forget

What is forgiveness? Did the bible say to forgive and forget? The Word will not tell you to do the impossible. When there is hurt and wrong done to us we can’t forget unless we lose our memory. There are times when mistreatment is pushed back and not consciously thought about but the memory is still there. This does not mean we keep this wrong on our minds all the time. This would be harmful to us. The LORD tells us to forgive becaue it good for us to cleanse ourselves. The Bible did not say to forget. This is sound reasoning.

The Word of GOD tells us to forgive. Forgiving is to cleanse your mind of hatred of the person that did the evil. This does not mean that you stop hating evil deed. Forgiveness is not giving in and allow the evil to continue. So many times people will ask forgiveness and when you forgive them they take that to mean what they did was right or the treatment continues..

Abusers of all kinds use this ploy. They will tell the person that they must forgive them. They then talk them into staying and taking more abuse to prove they forgive. So remember don’t sin in order to prove that you forgive.

You are the only one that will know if you truly forgive. Forgiving in not the same as giving in. There will be more to come on this subject. Please comment and enlighten us.

It is much easier to forgive than to ask forgivness. Life is a two part cleansing. Ask forgivness and forgive others. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

HOLY SPIRIT – PURE LIFE

Holy Spirit [Ghost] is not a name. Holy Spirit (Ghost) is not a person. The word Holy means Pure. Never let anyone tell you that anyone or anything on this earth is holy. As long a we live in this world we will not be holy.

Many objects, people, animals, birds and the list goes on is an idol to some people. They are called holy and this is their idol.

Spirit or Ghost means life. We cannot see life. We see a body which is evidence of life.

Holy Ghost means Pure Life.

Pure Life is not a name. Human life is not a name. You are human and you know this because you have a human body. The seed forms itself a body. So whatever the seed it will form the body to go with the life. An acorn when planted will form an oak tree. If our seed is human it will form a human body.

Do you wonder where your life is located in your body? It is in every cell in your body. Any cell that does not have life in it is dead.

Ouote or Misquote- How do you Know?

First I wish to explain how the Bible verses and chapters are laid out for you.

EXAMPLE:  This means John 3:16 – John {BOOK] 3: [CHAPTER] 16 {VERSE}. This is the usual way the Book, Chapter,  Verses are laid out to make it easy to look up. This was something I assumed everyone knew and found out they didn’t.  I was asked to explain this and was so happy to do so. Now there may be others that do this different so ask them to explain.

Be sure to visit us at egospel:

egospel.com

These are the things I need to know to keep the blog and newsletter going. What do you want explained? Remember there is not a question under the sun that the LORD has not already provided an answer for in His Word. He expects us to question everything and not just take the word of a human because they say they say that they kniow the Bible. It will usually take a lot of study when you ask a question to have the answer.

Have you listened to the many people that quote the Bible? I have spent the last few days doing that very thing. This is a warning to those who assume a preacher, teacher, relative, celebrity or human being that quotes or uses their memorization to tell us what the Bible says does not always have it right. While listening I heard many misquotes. I do not commit to memory or read the bible through many times a year as a storybook. It is not a storybook or a reading book. It is a study for living life on earth and preparing us for the life to come. We have to learn what it means and not memorize as if it were the multiplication tables or a play or movie. It is not it is a blue print to our eternity. Not a put on.  This is very real and we will leave this life one day and I pray for all of us we leave having honored the truth in the word.

I knew some of the misquotes, not because I have it memorized but because it changed the meaning of a verse or even chapter in the Bible. How many of us write these scriptures down and then look them up to see if they are the exact verse. A few little words can change the entire meaning of a whole doctrine in the Bible. Take notes if you are going to listen to a sermon. Then look it up after and take the truth and not just the feel good, tears or fears it brings. Never grab onto a verse just because someone scared you with it. The LORD did not intend for us to have salvation because of fear but because we want to know Him. It is not what we are saved from but what we are saved for. Once saved make the effort to find out what you are saved for.

GOD warned us in [Revelation 22:19] “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, GOD shall take away his part out of the book of life and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

This is not game playing or for argument but it is very plain in the meaning.

I will give another example that we hear so much about these days that are well known in the end time. This verse gets so misquoted in ways that when you know the meaning you stop and wonder how it could fall under a misquote. It does because of one little word. That word is ON instead of IN the forehead.

This is the verse  [Revelation 14:9] and I quote “And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice. If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark IN his forehead, or IN his hand.” What is IN our forehead? Yes it is the mind. This is where our beliefs and doctrines are. This is far more important than an artificial mark that means nothing but that you have been [shudder] tattooed.

I hope this has been a help to you and there is much more to come.
The LORD seems to have opened a well and I want to drink from it and pass it on to all of you. Pray for me and I pray for anyone reading along with many others on my prayer list.

Our Reason to be Here

The LORD works in mysterious ways. Think about the way our minds were created. They are more powerful than the human body that we live in. There seems to be so many disasters this year. Fires, earthquakes, cyclones and the list grows. The economy is very bad or at least we are told this is so. Many loved ones have died and making decisions seems to be impossible.

Then just as you are thinking about these sad happenings someone sends a great email that shakes you up and causes you to think about good things. I sent this email to many people and had so much response to it that I wanted to share a portion of it. The reason being that I know that we all wonder at times, “Why are we here or why are we still here?” Even with all the bad decisions, things we omitted and things that we committed and wondered how the LORD could keep putting up with us. Our ignorance is great at times and we wonder why does the LORD keep me here? He has very good reasons to keep us here. So that we love and bless others.

The email gave a great positive message and reminds us that we are all a blessing on this earth because we are here. We bless someone everyday by being on this earth. Look around and think how much you would miss this friend or relative and then think how missed you would be.

Think about the fact that we are all a blessing to someone. Family, friends and even strangers at times. Look around and think how many would miss you if you were gone. So cheer up we are needed and wanted. The LORD will help us when we walk in love and seek to bless others.

One statement in this email said this, “The will of GOD will never take you where the grace of GOD will not protect you. I hope this is a blessing to each of you and know that you are all a blessing to me.

Do you Have a Teachable Spirit?

Without a teachable spirit we will be as said in [ 2 Timothy 3:7 ] “Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

If we have a teachable spirit and want to know all the ways of the LORD then we will be good students. Yes, there is a spirit of learning. We must first have a teachable spirit ourselves before we can teach others. Above all other learning the Bible doctrines require a teachable spirit. If you truly desire the truth ask the LORD everyday in prayer to give you a teachable spirit. That teachable spirit is a deep longing to know the LORD JESUS CHRIST and the desire to have answers to spritual questions. In that longing will come deep important questions that make you ache to know the answers. Ask and you shall receive.

Even in the worldly school if a child does not have a teachable spirit they will grow up with very little knowledge and
understanding of what they are taught or what they must do to get along in this world. Many times this is called a learning disability or lazy. Then there are those that excell in worldly learning and are unable to learn or understand the Bible doctrines.

A person that has a disinterest in learning causes teaching them to become almost impossible. They can learn enough to get by in this world but do not care at all about the world to come?

Then we have those that do not do well in some subjects in the worldly learning that have a great spirit of learning for the things of the LORD. They then go on to have the spirit of teaching while continuing to have the spirit of learning with them always. This comes because the LORD blesses them with the spirit of learning, teaching and revelation. Don’t judge how well you did in the world’s school as to how well you will do in GOD’S Word.

Many who followed JESUS CHRIST were not learned men. Peter was given the keys to the kingdom and that key is wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Even though Peter was uneducated in the world he had the greatest of all teachers. Even with the LORD JESUS teaching him he still had to have a teachable spirit in order to learn.

I pray these few words will put a strong desire in us for the spirit of learning. Ask for it and you shall receive it. Remember that before you teach you must first learn. Always study with this in mind: Who is talking, Who are they talking to and What are they talking about. Also what time period is it, past, present or future. Is it happening now, did it already happen or is it to come in the future. The Bible is always up to date on all things spiritual.

He is the Light

As I sit here in Florida the thunder began to crash and the storm became very loud. I bowed on my knees to pray for all of you. The room was lighted with the lightening. I thought of how much better it is to be in the light and not in darkness. Our LORD is not a bringer of light but He is the light. He does not just love us He is love.

We have so many that we know that is sick and in pain. Three of our families have had recent deaths. We are go glad to know they were baptized and ready to meet the LORD. They will be missed and not forgotten so please keep the families in your prayers.

Our verse today is Proverbs 10:3 “The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: But He casteth away the substance of the wicked

You are prayed for by many and let us know if we can answer questions, have special prayer for you or help in any way.

Raised or Resurrected?

We will continue with the questions on the chart. “By the Fruit You Shall Know Them.”

Is being raised from the dead the same as being resurrected from the dead?

In  John 11:1-45 you will find the account of Lazarus sickness and death. There you will also find that JESUS raised him from the dead. In John 11:24 the sister of Lazarus told JESUS that she knew her brother would rise again at the resurrection.

JESUS then raised him from the dead and he continued to live on earth as a human  being and would be subject to death again. So being raised from the dead means that you will continue to live on earth as you did before being raised.

Resurrection means to receive a new kind of life. Matthew Chapter 27 tells us about the resurrection of JESUS CHRIST.  His body being pure was raised from the dead but the life of the FATHER  resurrected  Him with a new kind of life in that body. The Resurrection Life is the Life needed to live in Heaven.

By the Fruit or Doctrine You Shall Know Them”

Blessed

I am thanking the LORD JESUS CHRIST that our area was spared in the very deadly weather that went through Tennessee and other states.

As I watched the weather maps the line of thunder storms was moving East out of Memphis, TN and had they kept coming east it would have come right to our area. As we watched and prayed it turned north east.  I am thankful that we were spared and also ask that you pray for the ones that the storms have harmed. Many have been killed and many homes and businesses destroyed.

Our prayers are with you all.

Water and Spirit

Continuing with the questions asked on the chart

By: Ernest J. Kolenda titled:

By the Fruit [Doctrine] you Shall Know Them:

Does John 3:5 mean baptism in Water AND Spirit?

John 3:5: Verily Verily I say unto thee, unless a man be born of water and of the spirit, he  cannot enter into the kingdom of GOD.

In John Chapter three beginning with verse one we find JESUS having a discussion with a Pharisee and ruler of the Jews. The topic of discussion was begettal and birth. The man’s name was Nicodemus and he came by night.  This means he did not want others to know that he talked with JESUS. He told JESUS these words, “No man can do these miracles except GOD be with him.” He then had the above verse in John 3:5 spoken to him.

It is later that we discover the conversation to be about begettal and birth. The baptism of water and of spirit is one baptism. We know this because of the AND between of water and of  spirit. It would not be a complete baptism to have one without the other. This is why you are told in another scripture there is one baptism.

Nicodemus asked, “ How can these things be?” JESUS then questioned him because he was a master [teacher] in Israel and didn’t know these very important answers.

During this teaching JESUS also said to Nicodemus the words in verse 12, “If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall you believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?”

We too are told many things in the Bible and if we don’t study and understand the earthly things on any subject how can we understand the heavenly things. It would be to late to wait until we die and hope we are in heaven to have it explained to us as many say they will do.

It would be wisdom to study the normal earthly process of begettal and birth for humans.  The begettal is like other studies of the human body you have to search to find the normal way of this most important subject. It is well worth the effort to find books and articles on this subject as well as other body systems.

Today more than ever we have access to studies of the human body in it’s normal state than any other time and it is an amazing learning experience.  One of my favorite studies is the human brain. New things about our bodies are being discovered every day.

Hope we have given you a small look into the water and spirit as one baptism. Also pray it will interest you to study the human body and be amazed at how wonderfully we are made. Never be ashamed to study any part of our human body system. The enemy would very much like to make this a forbidden subject but taught and studied properly it is wonderful just as GOD made us to be.

The answer from the teaching and much study

By: Sylvia Kolenda

By the Fruit you Shall Know Them

While deciding on an article for the blog I found one of the small charts that has many great Bible studies on it. This chart covers many subjects but is about our fruit or “doctrine” that we produce. We will be known by our fruit or doctrine that we are producing on our tree.  I have been taught from this chart many times but everytime it is fresh and new again.

As the Bible tells us, “By thy words [doctrine] thy shalt be justified and by thy word [doctrine] thy shalt be condemned.” Matthew 12:37

The title of this chart is “By the fruit [Doctrine] you shall know them and by this your “destiny” is made known.

Each fruit on the tree is in the form of a question and having been taught from this chart as well as many others I can hear the teacher giving us the answers. Also this is the base of the doctrines that we believe and live.

The first piece of fruit is this question:

Is water baptism needed to remove sins or to fulfill Romans 6:3,4,5 and Colossians 2:12.

We know from Acts 2:38,[“Then Peter said unto them, “Repent and be baptized  everyone of you in the name of JESUS CHRIST for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost”] that water baptism is needed for remission or removal of the sin we inherited but what do we find in the other verses.

Romans 6:3,4,5 tells us this:

Verse 3: Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into JESUS CHRIST were baptized into His death.

Verse 4: Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as CHRIST was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Verse 5: For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His Resurrection.

Colossians 2:12 “ Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him through the faith [doctrine] of the operation of GOD, who hath raised Him from the dead.”

Baptism is for the remission of sins, which means to take sin away. Yes it is needed for the removal of sin. In order to be baptized we go through the death, burial and resurrection as stated in the above verses by baptism into water. All of the verses are telling us how very necessary to our salvation water baptism is as well as letting us know what water baptism does for us. The benefits of baptism is great and life giving. There are so many more verses on this subject and I know this is not a five minute study but it gets us started on the meaning of baptism and what it is.

There is much more to come with this study so let us have your comments, questions and participate in this study. See how many other verses on baptism we can find.

Instead of looking in the Bible to prove that baptism in the Name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST is not needed let us study to find out why it is necessary. This should apply to all the doctrines that we have to find out why they are needed. Always search out a doctrine to see if it is true before discarding and saying it is not necessary or blindly accepting it because someone told you too.
